The SIP HandyMIG Migmate was generally a 90A set, not sure if they did a bigger version. Some of them had a smoked perspex cover over the wire spool.
They're prone to overheating very quickly when used on maximum setting, but a fan (or pair of small fans) mounted on the side drawing air through the louvres improves useability no end
Yep, does look like one of the 90A units - there are a couple showing as finished items on Ebay that are identical. I think SIP's 110, 120 and 130A versions are quite a lot bigger.
It wouldn't be IMpossible, but there would be a certain amount of electrical work to perform in order to make it work.
In essence the torch is 'positive' and the return lead (with croc clip) is 'negative'.
In order to work with fluxed (gas-free) wire you'd have to work out how to reverse the polarity so the torch becomes negative and the clamp positive. Dual-purpose machines usually have an arrangement that allows you to swap some connecting bars over but the MIGmate won't have it.
I'd almost guarantee it won't have been changed but a simple way to test polarity is to put a multimeter set to read DC volts between the contact tip and return clamp and press the trigger.
You should be looking for something in the range of 15-30 volts.
If you see a positive value it's DCEP (gas) if you see a negative value then it's DCEN (gasless).
i have tested it with a fluke meter and am getting -16 at the torch end so looks like it has been changed over to suit gas less ?and seems to weld pretty good not so bad for £30
