What is this and do i need it?

Given this by a friend a few years back looked handy but forgot what he said it was for and dementia is now taken hold of the most incredible man I ever met but that's another story. Anyway it had four hollow arms attached to it just wondering if anyone has ever seen/used one appears to be air power to generate hydraulic pressure probably low end at a guess.

It is an air over oil intensifier by the looks of it. The drawbar on my Beaver NC5 lathe uses a similar device.

cheers any idea what sort of pressure it generates ? im guessing around 200bar ?
