What is the name of this part??

Hi Guys

Finally invested in a large gas bottle and new regulator. Fitted it all together and connected the adapter hose to the MIG and then along came the dog to knock over the gas bottle... the part that connects the regulator to the adapter hose has snapped but i dont know what it is called. I need to buy a new one ASAP so i can use my new bottle!

The connector circled in green is the one i need. It has a male part that goes into the regulator and the nut slides over the joint and screws into place to close the joint. Sorry i have no other pictures. This picture is the regulator and hose i bought

along came the dog to knock over the gas bottle...

I think that the bottle should be secured as it is compressed gas if the bottle valve had broke the bottle would have gone off like a rocket

Dogs can be such a nightmare, a recent buyer of an item I was selling on Ebay was so apologetic, her dog had walked on the keyboard, bid and confirmed the bid, I did of course totally believe her

Back to your broken bit, I would simply take it to one of the industrial estates, there always seems to be at least one unit selling comp air, hydraulics and pipe fittings, it's what I always do when unsure and worked every time.

I just call them regulator tails, usually works where I get mine.

Is it the Tail broke or the male to male fitting ?.

They always used to be called a stud coupling, You probably need a 1/4" to 3/8ths bsp.

I see there as cheap as chips anyway.
But if you have a problem getting one i think i have one i took off a knacked reg, you are welcome to.

Tap in (gently!) a stud extractor and twist, and out it should come.
