I used to use it when I lived in Johannesburg. Nothing fancy,just your run of the mill Migwelding gas that’s universally available.
Probably worth bearing in mind that parts of SA are high altitude, Johannesburg is just shy of 6000ft above sea level. Your car loses 12% of its power at that altitude as opposed to at sea level. Could well be why the o2 in the shielding gas looks high in comparison to what you are used to.
Air products used to supply it, came in a pink and blue cylinder. I do remember even with the regulator and flow meter set correctly,it did seem to leave quite a healthy layer of brown resin on top of your weld bead.
