apart from project posts what have u actualy made with your welder milling machine and lathes apart from just showing them and a bit of info how .to make it interesting

Some of the past few months or so's stuff to keep it sane, I've got lots of pics otherwise and it'd get silly.
Dry clutch for my dragbike, own design.
Own fabrication.
External oil pump mounting plate with an12 fittings, so I can use a £30 belt driven car oil pump instead of a £500 moroso dry sump pump.
Both items for this. Hopefully I'll get it out and go for a gentle canter soon if I can finish building my dyno and get it mapped and stuff.
Speaking of which...
Drum from a road roller, but the standard two piece axle with angular contact bearings replaced by a 60mm solid axle rolling on new double row bearings with a higher speed rating.
Fabricating a geartrain up to this. A H&F 1KW capable water brake. So I've got a hybrid between a inertia chassis dyno and a engine brake. I should be able to dial in a load on the H&F and then do some intertia testing with it as a known constant but keep the ability to measure steady state hp at a given position in the map. At the moment fabricating a transmission from lumps of lorry.
And for when I'm bored, finishing off this cnc conversion on a bridgeport series1 interact rigid ram boss.
Building the machine cab at the moment. Have done the stepper mounts now and just ordered some pulleys to do a polyvee conversion on the head as its a mechanical vari head and too tall, so loosing a few inches in height at the same time as removing the rattle prone vari. Keeping low gear though, so two step head with the vfd to change spindle speeds on fly controlled by pc running linuxCNC. I built a large horizontal dividing setup using a small lathe already, so mounting a stepper on that to give me 4 axis on it when its ready.

Some nice work there Mr Fluffy, how I envy you having the time to get stuff done. I still haven't got around to clocking my lathe spindle yet, almost a week on.

Nothing welding related but I'm looking to build a theremin. It's the only musical instrument in the world that you play without touching it.
Been researching designs etc and just ordered some quite unusual hard to finds electronics. Work will be commencing soon

is that one of those electronic jobs that you play by waving your hands about over it? Saw bill bailey playing (using?) one in London, was quite impressed for a while then it just turned into noise lol

Well, my last creation is not in the same league as the above, but it's solid & has been Very handy so far...
- recycled a computer-desk-frame, a garden center trolley (donated to me, Honest), 2 shelves from an old steel cabinet and some worn-out spanners to make a welding cart. I'm still running gas-less but made the rear shelf big enough to take a Genie bottle, ready for when I switch over. The only cost was for 2x 4" castors, around £6...

Also (but Not done it yet) - a repair for my son's mate, he fell off his bike (Yam125) and bent the left footpeg backwards about 45degrees. the fall even cracked the corner reinforcement bracket...
Tried applying heat (rothenburger & mapp gas) but when trying leverage, my whole bench moved (I can't move the bench, normally). So, I'm now thinking to cut it off near the bracket, taper the edges (it's about 20mm dia) & weld it back on straight. And to slice the bracket weld open & reweld that too. What do you reckon? It's that or buy a new one for £30... (?)

Yes it is, I've always wanted one. My friends and I play a lot of reggae music and the Theremin is a good addition. It's also bee quite good fun to research and suss out.
I will post pics once work gets underway
Don't forget the Laser Harp, you play that by blocking the laser beams.

Quite pleased with how these came out.
I replaced these brackets made from roofing material.....
.....with these made from stainless steel.
Spotwelded a double thickness & tapped M6 holes.
This is where they go, grp sill to floorpan support brackets.
How they look fitted. (Yes I did cut the excess bolt length off!)

These were done on my manual machines, an Arno universal mill and Harrison l5a lathe.
Mr doubleboost, that steam engine is ace, I want to build a engine from raw stock and castings one day when I have the time and materials. Maybe a modern take on the old vincent twin layout or similar.
