What grit paper?

I am prepping the under side of a bonnet for bc/cc, its had 3 coats of the lechler ti primer and i'm going to give it a coat of lechler epoxy 29107 as a sealer before 3-4 coats of basecoat. My question is, what grit paper should i use to sand the primer? i am going to sand it dry by hand and also with a mini orbital sander. Am i right in thinking i could use a more coarse grit because i'm using epoxy before the bc?

400 grit. I use Mirka Abranet vacuum system with the velcro perforated paper for this and the 400 grit gives a good finish in the ti filler primer.

BTW, no need for an epoxy coat, the base coat will adhere to the ti filler primers just fine.

600 grit for straight paint or 800 for basecoat/clear, most painters use this.
As said you don't need to seal the TI but it won't hurt.

Yes, if I'm using a "fussier" top coat such as cellulose then 600 grit or 800 will give a shinier finish.

Thanks, but i will not be wet sanding it. Don't i need a different grade of paper when sanding dry?

i always use a 320, then a 500, then either 800 or 1000 wet sand depending on the colour going on

The same grit is used, finer than 800 may impair grip
