A friend of mine, a certain Mr Dent hillclimbes a JAP engined Hornet - in fact his whole family, including 80 something yo father do a bit. Alistair bought some oval racing bits from Holland or somewhere, but as you might expect they were well used. The cam was something he really wanted, but not so close inspection has shown up a problem with it. It looks like valve float has worn/beaten a big old trough just after the tdc of the lobe, and it could do with some filling.
So my question is which filler rod to use, and from where? I'm guessing at en40 for the parent material - it has a gear cut as part of the cam. Any suggestions? Some high nickel content rod?
