What do you think this ladder is made of?

I know its a daft question, but even the manufacturer (the people who brand it at least) dont seem to know.

Im thinking someone here would probably be able to give an idea on the way the metal is deforming on the bend? Cant really see much of the welds.

Hmm....

I think somewhere else they said they were aluminium, but my suspicion is mild.

Try a magnet, might be one of those quasi stainless steels. Or those steels that only rust a bit. Corsten?

Id agree, but as they say stainless could be 304, rather 316, it does corrode

Not a daft question. You wanted to know, so you asked. Your post generated a question for me to learn from. I would like to know what sort metal EWR is in the context mentioned here by Pedrobedro.

I did search online first and there are a few definitions. One definition for EWR was electric welding resistance.

All hollow section steel starts off flat. pulled through a die former, turning it round or square etc, it's then welded using EWR. you can then draw that to get rid of the flash, and normalise.

Edit; Not all. Boiler tube and 4130 and the English equivalent are solid bar drawn through a swaging block to form Tube
