What could be causing this?

That chart displays nominal (rounded) numbers for the feeds. Compare the feeds shown for 2.5, 5, 10, 20, 40 tpi. In the case of feeds, this does not matter one bit, but if you did need an exact number, you'd need to be careful.

Still getting these striations...this was about 10 thou depth of cut using power feed but they're still there with the leadscrew and power feed disengaged using the handwheel. From right to left, 200rpm, 300, 460, 720. Used some marker to show them more clearly...some mad patterns!

Compare the lines with the leadscrew pitch. If they are similar then it's probably a combination of carriage wear and a slightly bent leadscrew

You're getting a geometric pattern, so it must be an effect of a geometric shape. What's the distance between striations and what pitch is your leadscrew

Yes this (leadscrew/powerfeed/whatever). Must be a bent shaft or less likely, sticky bearing. Has to be something like that due to the regularity.

Which part of the hand feed system shares a drive component with the powerfeed?

The rack/gear? I've had the apron off and couldn't find anything but then again I'm not really sure what I'm looking for...

I have made a similar mess, went away when I used a revolving centre and a lot more speed.
