They look a bit like the concealed hardware you have on "Floating shelves", but probably too small. Maybe something along those lines though, a towel rail or something. Screw a pair of shafts to the wall, slip the fitting over it and tighten an out of sight grub screw into the necked down portion to hold it in place.

They are similar to towel rail holders and toilet roll holders but... ...why are they hexagon-shaped and why do they have two grooves? These things are costed to fractions of pennies so the hex stock and two grooves need a purpose.

Maybe they're universal, the hex is an anti-rotation feature for things like roll holders where there's only one bracket, and two grooves are so they can be used on different products with grub screws in different positions.

I bought another 2 lin bins of these so now I have a lot of them! Only bought them for the bins, the contents were a bonus!
Trying to think of an alternative use for them & the only thing so far is coat hangers!
