What are these for?

These items came in a box of bodyshop consumables I bought.

I know the 2 items on the left are cup grinding wheels, but what do you use them for?

The thing that looks like a chimney brush is made to fit in a drill, not sure what you use it for. The bristles are flat strips of steel, is it for stripping paint?

That size cup wheel would go on a tool grinder like my clarkson, though the hole size is more like that of a surface grinder. If you have no use for them I'd buy them for a tenner each so long as they ring up ok.

the brush is for cleaning St/Steel chimney pipe, esp wood stoves......
a complete kit that's rods and a brush are about €25's....

There isn't any thread to attach it to a chimney rod but the twisted wire centre is knurled, as if it fits in a chuck.

How do you check the 'ring'?
Hold it on a screwdriver and tap it with something and it should ring like a bell, if it makes a dull sound it's cracked somewhere

The wheel should be hung on something non metallic and also tapped with something non metallic.... normally pieces of wood should be used.... so don't start tapping with anything metal this is the official way it should done so no tapping wheels with metal.

I'm sorry, but unless you know the proper and correct way to ring a wheel (and ideally trained and have the paperwork to go with it) please don't put misinformation out on the web when safety issues are at stake. I get pretty sick of seeing all this misinformation on the forums and the web in general. It could cost someone an accident.
