was hoping there was some one a little more local, saves delivery charges
http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAc...albans&scrambleSeed=672178491&autocomplete=kw and hit the phone. Somewhere on the forum is a list of stockholders and fabricators that are DIY friendly so you might get lucky and find someone else has already done the research for you... some (many) places take the pee and will happily sell smallish offcuts for more cash than a full sheet costs from a stockholder. Especially if they smell DIYer that might not know what stuff costs
If you want a rough idea of what ££ to expect then http://www.parkersteel.co.uk/Matrix/19/Cold+Rolled+General+Purpose Don't need to register to get a price, just add whatever you want to the basket and then goto the basket and select calculate prices
It's still worth trying a few fabricators as companies that buy regularly in quantity get much better prices from stockholders and occasionally they'll sell on for less than two sheets would cost you. Not that common though, at least around my neck of the woodsI only want a couple of sheets
Bodywork on a classic car (to me at least) means more than a small offcut for a one off job. It's about the hassle as much as the money... go and buy a an offcut, do some work and run out of material. On a Saturday afternoon. Repeat. After not long you've spent more time and money than if you'd just gone to local stockholder and bought a 2x1 sheet. If you want to make say a battery tray out of stainless then i agree an offcut makes more sense than buying a whole sheet to use 300 x 250mmIs it worth bothering if they double the price if your only spending a tenner a time? Gosh I am one penny pincher when I am buying a fair amount but rather than overstock and fill the place with stuff I wont use up.................?
I only want a couple of sheets
