yeah but console users are using last years graphics cards whilst us pc'ers can update our cards and have the updated tech on them

Console games are made to run on that potentially outdated hardware so it doesn't really matter that it's old, and I'd say most people don't want (Or can't afford) to constantly upgrade to bleeding edge tech.

You'll never persuade console gamers a PC is better, just as they'll never persuade you the console is better. At least everyone can agree mobile gaming is bottom of the pile.

This is why we have both, I had a ps3 from when they launched and enjoyed games on that, it became a media centre eventually. Replaced with an xbox one that only the kids game on

They are all pretty much pc (well x86) these days with a custom boot rom

Nah mario kart one of the best loads of fun

made even better with the ds 8 players all fighting for number one

even sorts many an argument out as too busy having way too much fun belting the other with the awards you get

thats the point a pc graphics card can outlast a console system any day 5 years + though you dont always need new tech or hardware either to play new or old games on the pc

one thing a pc can do is play many console games upon it

Ive just bought the last bits of my lads gaming PC, spent about £500 all in so similar to a console

However we get the fun of building it together, its upgradable and pc game choice is massive these days, once hdmi was released plugging the pc into the TV became normal so can be used by all

I bought an xbox a few years ago, rarely used for games

I also know £500 is cheap for a gaming pc but ive been buying bits since June and £230 was for the graphics card which will support everything he plays for years

There are definitely benefits to PC gaming, but I gave it up years ago when we bought our first Xbox. I now use a PS4, daughter has both an Xbox and PS4.

With a mouse you can get far better and quicker accuracy when shooting baddies etc, than with a console hand set device, that’s one benefit of the PC. My first game was the original Wolfenstein, on PC, followed by Unreal, which had incredible graphics..... for the time, but are pitiful compared to modern stuff.

Which series ie ps2 ps3? Never had any p's stuff, but if they play on Win 10, I may try a few from charity shop like James Butler says, why not.

I suppose I would need to buy the controllers.

not on windows 10 i dont think

you need emulators to play old games on pc

but you can play with atari roms right up to playing ps2/ps3 games on a pc machine

but you would need an alternative way its not as straight forward as putting a ps1 or 2 disc straight into the drive and playing it from there

I use retropi as an emulator on a raspberry pi which covers most of pre ps1 stuff and maybe ps1 or ps2 by now.

My lad collects consoles so its more adding to the collection than playing it.
Last time I played any type of console game san andreas had just come out

I've swapped to PC from consoles recently - i already had a decent spec PC to run Fusion360.

I can't get used to controlling with keyboard/mouse though, so i use a ps4 controller plugged into a usb port. (Maybe i need to get a better keyboard)

Tbf, i only play Skyrim, Fallout 4, Neverwinter and Mass Effect(s)
Thinking of splashing out on cyberpunk 2077 - maybe next summer when it's got over the initial hype.

it is when im shooting your tank and crew dead even better if i hit your amunition and your turret blows off

come off it if 30 players from this site all played it and we could kill each other in fun winner takes all game
