It's possibly intentional to drive up the price, use 2 accounts and sell stuff for more than its worth but never complete the transaction to make people think it's worth more than it is.
Like "selling" new £5 notes on ebay for silly money to get into the news and on blog sites, people start buying them for £50 thinking it's an investment that's going to make them money or they are going to resell it for £200, no still worth a fiver.

The sellers do it to keep the feedback and number sold, if they pulled it and relisted they start from zero, same with a phone case I ordered, looked down the list, Samsung whatever, bought it, too small, was told that if I had scrolled down to the very bottom they had listed the Samsung 2018 model, I said why did you not list that version right after the earlier model to alert stupid people like myself to the fact that there were two different versions, answer was that ebay let them add to the list but not edit it!!!!! if they edited the list they would looks the one million sales and feedback numbers, starting from zero.....

Everytime z new console comes out prices get jacked up around christmas, that said i just got my dreamcast down from the loft, crazy taxi weekend Why? Because all my mates are doing it.

There are always ridiculously over priced items on every eBay search, just to get the seller at the top of the page. Click on ‘most expensive first’ on virtually any eBay page, and you’ll see them.

Ive just bought the last bits of my lads gaming PC, spent about £500 all in so similar to a console
However we get the fun of building it together, its upgradable and pc game choice is massive these days, once hdmi was released plugging the pc into the TV became normal so can be used by all
I bought an xbox a few years ago, rarely used for games
I also know £500 is cheap for a gaming pc but ive been buying bits since June and £230 was for the graphics card which will support everything he plays for years

You'll never persuade console gamers a PC is better, just as they'll never persuade you the console is better. At least everyone can agree mobile gaming is bottom of the pile.

yeah but console users are using last years graphics cards whilst us pc'ers can update our cards and have the updated tech on them
the one thing that goes for console users is game makers building the games for them first it was the other way around pc got the game first
however that was down to greed and stuff the pc due to copys being spread
playstation 2 got me had enough of the extended wait price increase so bought a pc instead

When I used to sell Consoles at Toys R us back in 2005 ish (well 2004-2008) I was often asked what console I personally had, I had to say the best of them, a pc, the number of people who didn't realise even then that pc's could play decent games was asstounding
