Spent from about 10 til now pulling everything out the shed bar the lathe and welding bench in an attempt to declutter (for sale posts to arrive tomorrow) and reorganise so I have a usable space where everything that is regularly used is available when needed...except I also had to incorporate a 10 ton press, bead roller, shrinker stretcher and compressor in there as well and...well, it doesn't fit...

The bandsaw stand is bigger than it needs to be so is preventing the 3d printer fitting where I want it to, but if I make the bandsaw stand smaller I lose the space underneath for the hoover and chop saw...if I put the press along the back wall I can't get the bandsaw out to use it, I have nowhere for the big storage box of filament to go, or the box for scrap plastics...the welding bench is full of tools to sort though, the lathe is full of tools to sort through, the floor is covered in swarf, dust, bits of packaging, polystyrene and spiders...and no matter how I look at it, the compressor won't fit without needing to be moved every time I want to drill a hole or use the wire wheel...

In hindsight the 1500mm wide welding bench wasn't exactly necessary...but if I make that smaller I lose the space for 1 of the tool boxes

Simple solution is to put the 3d printer in the house where it should be...

I know the problem! I have a few tools I need to move on.
I havent (been able to) use my compressor for a few years.

the milling machine is back to being a dream at this point, as is the cnc plasma table...

and as for the dining table, i wouldnt dare, swmbo would have my toes off

Reference to shed with no photos sounds like you dont have room or solid walls to do this?

I Could get a DCG around to remove at least 90% but then we would have to store , till we wanted it back

As well as a second shed, a big van is needed too, so that can also be filled up.

Renders it useless when you want/need to use it though.

Oh I have 2 sheds...1 for storage 1 for workshop...and an old council garage in Cwmbran, a 20 foot container in Newport, a 40 foot container in caldicot, stuff at both parents houses...and the Jag is full...


I need to try and empty the garage so I can attempt to store a vehicle in there, and the 20 foot container as the cost of that keeps going up...I own the 40 footer outright so that's not an issue, that's full of furniture and appliances from when I moved out of my house and in with my Mrs...the garage is full of fishing gear, the second shed is full of garden tools, Xmas tree, gazebo etc

Compressor needs to go in a seperate shed, they're too noisy to work next to, it's not about storage space it's necessary for your ear health. How could SWMBO argue with that.

I've resigned myself to the fact the compressor is going to have its own external cupboard...insulated with plenty of air flow for cooling and supply...I actually think I've figured out how to make it all fit properly...

The band saw needs to come off it's stand, then the 3d printer goes on (after a slight modification to the stand), then the band saw gets a new minimalist tripod stand which makes it smaller and lighter so it can be stored sideways in the corner (gets dragged outside for use anyway), the 3d filaments will fit under the 3d printer, chop saw, bead roller, shrinker, lathe chucks, collets, steadies and collet drawbar will fit on a shelf currently full of lathe tools I need to sell, the press and sit Infront of the grinder bench as it's not big enough to cause a problem...all my small turning stock needs a home and then I just need to 3d print some holders for the change wheels, lathe tool holders, chuck keys, live centre and tailstock drill chuck to get them up on the wall above the lathe...

Then I can start making more stuff that won't fit but is necessary for the stuff I want to make.
..I've also measured up and I won't actually fit a bike down the centre anymore so that's going to have to live in the garage in cwmbran and parts will have to be made long distance
