Weldstar Infinium 200A Pulse MIG

Hi, does anyone have experience on the WeldStar Infinium 200A Pulse MIG Multi process Welder. Was considering the GYS Multi pearl 210 but then saw the WeldStar which seems to do all the same with the addition of pulse MIG and TIG! It's another £400 but looks to cover all options - maybe jack of all trades but master of none. Or is it just that advances in technology since the GYS was released enable these additional options now. Any experience or thoughts welcome.
Should add that I currently have an old Clarke 130EN and will mostly be doing old cars so thin steel is important but I like the idea of learning TIG as well.

Its a very good machine, to be honest. I've got one on the bench at the moment and I've used it on and off for about 2 months now and I have to say that every time I used it i'm quite impressed. I'm yet to use it on pulse MIG but have used it in standard MIG and both AC & DC TIG modes and the results have been decent. For the money, i'd say you cant go far wrong.

Thanks Tom, I wonder if you can confirm something if you have access to one - what is the minimum steel thickness setting available for Synergic MIG and also what is the lowest Amp setting for MIG - on 230V. The spec sheet says 40A which I've read is still a bit high for really thin steel sheet. For 110 is says 5A - I'd have thought the low end would be the same given its an Inverter?

Surely you will just use the mig pulse function for thin metal? That's what it's designed for.

I reckon most of the specs just say 40a...in reality an inverter machine will go down a lot lower. My Kemppi minarc synergetic goes down to 0.5mm thickness on steel which is more than thin enough for car repairs.

...but given the price I reckon you are right to check it out before you buy!

I'd be interested to see you do a review if you end up buying it.

Just been and checked myself. On synergic MIG set on carbon steel steel, argon/co2 20% mix with a 0.6MM of wire it'll go down to 0.6MM material thickness at 25A (13.8V).

Great thanks Tony, appreciate that. Should be good for car panels then even without using pulse which I guess would be another interesting option.
