I’ve got a few bits and bobs to do that don’t justify buying a mig setup - wheelbarrow handle needs fettling and that sort of thing. Stuff that is prob 1-2mm box or tube.
I had a small number of 1.6mm electrodes that were given to me and were handy for thin stuff (think they were just crappy Halfords SIP or something) but I’m finding it hard to track down any decent, thin electrodes - 2.5mm seems to be the thinnest common size.
What would be your advice (for a very amateur welder!) - walk of shame to Halfords welding dept for some more SIP rods or use the 2.5mm ones I’ve got with the amps right down? Any other tips and guidance to avoids me blowing through stuff?
