just need a little help welding thin metal around 0.8mm with 0.6 wire, i can lay welds directly onto it with good penetration etc, but is it actually possible to butt weld 2 sheets together at this thickness, or would i have to use the stop and start tecnique. just playing at the mo, before i attack the sills on my ford probe. im using argoshield light btw
also what metal thickness should i use to repair the outer sills?
i have a siegen 180 turbo welder and ive seen a few reports of people not liking them, yes there is a problem and its the wire feed tension spring, its just useless, fit a heavier one and it works perfect,
im not new to welding but it been a very long time since welding and it was always heavey gauge stuff, the last welder i used was a massive 500 amp esab with a remote wire feed unit and digital adjustment which worked in increments or 1 amp
thanks for your time
Mark
