Might be a silly question but can you mig weld a stainless spade that's cracked with 0.6 copper coated mild steel wire? I don't mind if the weld area is not stainless.
Thanks for the comments, however, the spade cost £4.95 from ASDA in a sale 2 years ago so if I spend any more money it'll be on a new spade! Looking closer, when they ground down the weld to neaten the join they took half the thickness of the blade away. I filled the groove they created with 3 lines of weld and it's now much stronger.

Don't buy 2 for £20 unless it is for light garden work, I have an old All Strength spade and it'll wear away before it breaks. I've had it 10 years, the blade is 2 inches shorter and I've just broke the second handle, which is why I was using the stainless garden spade for a man's job.
