Turbo's don't work at such great pressure otherwise your big end bearings would collapse and if the fit is good then the system will lose very little air.
A little silicone would sort any leaks out anyway.
Its much better than your booster output pipe coming off alltogether.
I guess I'm not a turbo fan anyway. Such a lot of engineering to be used a couple of times a year on UK roads.
I would much prefer a snooze control for the motorways.
The last thing I will do is drill holes in the system and use a permanent installation.
For one I don't want to expose it to more leaks but I also need to be able to remove and repair/replace things from time to time.
Turbos don't ruin your big end if the tune is right. As for wearing them out, the main wear on a turbo is from ingesting crap or from cavitating from too much back pressure, hence a BOV which I will one day install. Right now 20 psi will suffice.
As for too much engineering on the road? That all depends!
