Welding Pencil

I'm teaching myself MIG and trying to lay a straight bead. Does anyone know if these pencils help or any good?

At that price you don't have much to loose testing some.. never used or seen one myself.

yes they are very good pencils get a red one also

I didn't get on with them, very fragile lead and suffered in the damp environment here. Bit of french chalk would do what you want. Sharpie and if greater accuracy is required then scribe through the pen markings.

Haven't used those pencils, I normally just use a bit of French chalk.
Another trick, if you are starting out or half blind like me, is to grind a shallow line with a 4 inch cutting disc, or for curves, create a line with a series of closely spaced center punch marks.

When we were training apprentices to uste the cutting torch we would do the line of centre punch marks and then rub chalk into them. Now I wear varifocals I cant see anything so avoid freehand where I can
