Brought my oxford oil filled home the other day, it's usually down at the workshop where it runs off a genny. Never used it on the mains before.
On the genny, welder set to 80 amps, it'll run a 2.5mm rod ok but could do with being on the next setting up (100a) but that trips out the genny breaker. Genny is 4.5kva, has an AVR but is one of the floating earth types.
Same rods, same welding cables running on the mains, 80a is very hot, 100a blows holes unless I'm going fast and 60amps is spot on. It's a totally different machine than it is on the genny.
What gives? Is it running the genny close to max that is maybe dropping the voltage or something like that?
