welding in some footwells

hi all on wednesday ive got some footwells to weld in to a s2a landie the new ones are about 2mm and the other stuff is thin riusty pig iron

any tips
im using co2 and 0.8mm on a clarke 151en

would have thought the new footwell would be more like 1.2 mm not 2mm

just clean it all up well and bias the torch towards the new metal you might have to add some more metal into the side pillars if it's that bad

Yes, the bottom of the door pillars need a lot of reconstructing, I've already done the tops. New foot wells are probably about 1.5mm, but thats just guessing.
