welding in small spaces

Currently doing a resto car project,

How do people deal with welding in confined spaces, I can get the torch in postion, but the welding helmet keeps falling off when I try to get close to see what I am welding.

Welding under the car is no fun at all-any tips there, in the end I take off the helmet (I no its a big no no) and do the best I can.

get a hand held screen they can be better when working underneath vehicles

The best tip I can give you for jamming your head in places under cars is to wear ear plugs, weld bombs in your ear are bloody painful.

Monkey masks... for getting your head in tight spaces and scaring the neighbours/wife/small children etc
