Welding in Australia

Hello , I'm a panel beater to trade and MIG welding is a big part of my job , I'm moving to Australia in May/June of this year , the reason I'm here is that I put my CV on a website and a company have contacted me from Queensland offering a job doing MIG work with scope to learn new weld skills , basically I'd like to know what other courses is there I could do to help myself in this type of field , I know the mines over there need welders but are pretty hard to get into wondering if anybody here could share any knowledge.
