I know there is a thread about training courses but didn’t want to clog it up with my question.
I have messed around with my welder, even successfully welded and fabricated a few things but I would like to try and advance my skills and get some formal training. I punch a keyboard on a daily basis and its very unfulfilling – to know I have an “actual” trade as opposed to talking ******** in a meeting room would be nise.
Can anyone tell me what accreditation actually holds value within the industry? Is it C&G?
I have checked out the sources at the local colleges (Bristol / Bridgewater) and I am slightly confused by what course does what and which is considered a trade qualification and what’s just a local college training course?
Am I wasting my time, should I just practice my ass off or is there skills and techniques I will pick up on the course that will stand me in good stead?
Your views and advice are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
James
