Hi all,
Was clearing out crap from an old outbuilding and getting pretty bored when I spotted an old length of copper pipe (about 20mm dia) and thought: If I sawed that in half... I could weld it back together again.
So, forgetting the clearup, I found a length of cable and extracted some copper wire (about 1.5mm dia) and TIG'd the pipe back in one piece... seems to have welded fine.
Question is: Is this welding or Brazing ?
and... If you wanted to join some copper, is TIG welding it with copper filler rod the proper way to do it ?
Yours,
Tony Wilk
P.S. I did try AC, but that didn't look right so I used DC.
