Welding cold rolled iron from B&Q

I'm just getting round to sorting my camper van out.
There's a u shaped channel for the rubber seal to fit in. but only the rubber left as the steel has rusted away. B & Q do a 10mm by 10mm U shaped cold rolled iron length. So my question is can i weld it just like normal Steel.

Yes, it will be nicer to weld than any hot rolled section you may have used in the past.

I was just worried that cold rolled iron was different to cold rolled steel.

Its B&Q not calling it the correct thing. It is cold rolled steel.
They dont know much about steel stock.
