Don't post on here too often but follow the tutorials and have learnt lots from other previous posts, and so far completed all the repairs to floor and body on my motor, and now I want to start my first(proper) 'clean' metal project and I am a bit nervous as really don't want to get it wrong.
I'm wanting to build a rear seat frame to fit a Alfa rear bench seat onto, I'm fine mounting the seat onto the finished article but not 100% about the frame it sits on, my thinking is use 30mm box which is 3mm thick, (was thinking of using 1"x10swg tube but know making it and making the welds/seam neat will be much harder and don't want to get this wrong as obviously want to carry people on it). Has any one got any pictures for how they might of built something similar and how the joints were made, do you butt, angle mitre it, is there any preference with strength, is the box section I'm talking about right, can I build it like a box, or should put angle braces in???
Sorry for all the questions, but I really don't want to get this wrong, and any info/guidance/pointers/advice now before I start would be great, and any pictures the better as photos do always speak a 1000 words
