Welding Books

i did a search here but didnt find much.
can anyone recommend particular mig,tig or arc books that teach from the ground up?
ive watched how to guides over and over but would like to learn a bit more.

Farm Welding by Andrew Pearce is a good starter. Very practical and down to earth. Can be found on s/h book sites fairly cheaply. The newer version is called 'Farm and Workshop Welding'

I have an early edition of this book, and its still excellent advice for gas, stick, and mig. Doesn't touch on tig, though.

Some good stuff on the Miller site might be worth a look if you haven’t already seen it? You can download a lot of the stuff and stick it in a folder if you want it in offline form.

Look for AC Davies -theory and practice of welding (i think)
theres a part one and part two
you can get an old one for 1p on amazon + postage

PS its the basis of just about every college welding course
