When you say self assembly, do you mean like goodrich or earls etc?
Hmm have to fit rubbish crappy rubber ballooning oem ones for the sva then if so, and put the real ones on after

No, I think if they are crimped, then they are acceptable. It's the olive type connectors that are questionable.

Goodrich type stainless steel hoses self-crimp a small brass olive onto a ptfe inner liner. They do this when you assemble them.
Ive never managed to make a bad one and Ive done a fair few on various things over the years, so if they are the type prohibited I cant see why. The only time you get issues is when you reuse the ends and mix and match olive types as theyre specific to the manufacturer of the hose end, and then its obvious something is up by the way the end blows off when you put it under hydraulic pressure.
