So where would I find a welding apprentice or trainee job?
I am 38 and wanting to change my occupation.
I have a dc tig at home and I am ok with that, My welds are not the best looking but they are strong and with a few days of welding full time they would be looking good.
I don't know much about fabrication, but from the stuff I have made in the garage I learn pretty quick.
So a apprentice or trainee job would be what I am looking for, I know apprentices get paid really low wages and college costs money, which I would be willing to pay for myself and do in my own time if needs be.
But where can I find an employer to take a chance and take me on?
I know I am an older guy, but this just makes me more mature and trustworthy, I don't mind making tea and sweeping the workshop floor either.
I've tried the job centre, looking on the internet, nothing. Is there a magazine or anything I could look at? Welders weekly or something?
Any advice would be appreciated.
