Hi there,
I purchased a Thermal arc fabricator 200 today from Mig Tig Arc .
I am using this to weld up 6mm round steel for making African Drums. The ring are pulled under pressure with rope so the welds need to be strong.
The chap in the shop welded two ring up for me to show me how to use it and he set the machine up for me ( i forgot to say before i am a complete novice at welding). Anyway i tested the strength of the rings earlier tonight i they arnt strong enough.
THe settings he put the welder on are:
Wire speed 7
voltage 18
gas 9 cft/hr
My question is to make the weld penetrate more and make the weld stronger do i just turn the voltage up or do i need to change any other settings?
Any advice would be gratefully received
Thanks for your time,
Andy
