Welding advice for different circumstances.

What are the differences in relation to wire speed and power when say you have to weld from beneath the workpiece, vertically, smaller wire, going to larger wire.

What adjustments are generally required from welding on the flat? I know specifics are awkward, but if you have to go vertically, should you back off the speed, increase your travel etc. Going from 0.6 to 0.8 should you reduce power, overhead, should you decrease wire speed or power. Just generalisations please.

Well, trial and error will help you out the best, but generaly if you change from welding on the flat to going vertical you might want to speed up the wire a touch, you could get it set so you have it capable of doing both, saves a lot of adjustments and going back and fore to the machine, wire thickness change would mean that if you are burning 0.6mm and go to 0.8mm your not going to be hot enough and possibly the wire feed is too high.

Overhead would be the same as vertical, as long as you are on dip transfer,
