Welding a Motorcycle frame

I have been asked to repair a broken engine mount on a zx10.
I have done plenty of cast ali welding so thats not a problem.
Are there any issues welding with the motor and electrics still in frame,just a bit concerned regards
sensitive electronics.

You can use a surge protector across the battery
I have welded a few car parts full of electronics with out any problems

Can you not just disconnect the battery ?
What does a surge protector consist of ?

Simple and cheap surge protector, disconnect both battery leads and clip them together, it will save any damage to the ECU's.

disconnect battey and keep return lead as close to welding area as possible. Electricity takes the shortest path (least resistance) so should be ok. I welded a new subframe onto my dads bandit and all was fine

as said above if you are worried, remove battery and clip leads together
