hi all,can i run this past the experinced everyday alloy tig welders on here,as its been 10/15 yrs since i did any proper ali tig work.
been given a 70's ford cast alloy bellhouseing and asked to weld on a smallish block of alloy witch is known to be 6082 grade(its NOT to repair any cracks/damage,before that tin of worms gets opened, just an extra part adding on)not worryied about colour match. just strengh, what filler wire would be best suited iam looking at 4043(5%silicon).
but before i pre-heat&strike up iam open to sensible comments/guidance....
thanks.
