Welderfix ???

Hi guys sent a welder to welderfix at Harrogate last week for a repair. AC not working on a murex transtig. Just wondered if any members have had any dealings with them and if so how did it go?
They claim to repair components not just replace a whole unit which is what our regular repair company do .
It doesn't matter what you send to them it's always
IT NEEDS A NEW BOARD
Any info on welderfix would be appreciated and in turn I will let you all know how we get on ourselves.

Had a little draper inverter repaired by them a while ago, good service and I know that they spent far more on it than they charged me for under a fixed price arrangement.

Why's that so surprising? Modern electronics often use multi-layer circuit boards so even if you have the time and skill to trace the circuit at component level, chances are that the client won't want to pay for that. We do electronics repair and calibration and the equipment makers won't supply service info.; the old-fashioned way of setting circuits up by twiddling potentiometers has gone and everything needs a PC interface - which they won't sell you or tell you anything about.
We often resort to returning kit to the makers to be told it needs a new board... because the computer has said no.
