Hi all new to the site so I have probably posted in the wrong place. I have a Clarke 185t mig older blue model but the motor has gone slow and needs replacing does anyone have a manual please thanks

If you go to the Clarke page of the welders part of the forum, at the top of the page is a section with all the Clarke manuals/instructions on it. You should find one there. I think also they are available from Clarkes web site.

Have you tried cleaning the grease out of the gearbox & relubricating it? There have been several postings on here about older machines where the grease has thickened up.

EDIT Just had a look & the 185t isn't listed, but I think you will find the others are very similar, close enough to see how it goes. There is a 180 there, wouldn't mind betting that it's virtually the same inside

thanks cobbler just had it all to bits all spins fine its the motor itself that is worn out. Managed to get pics of parts and numbers. have to purchase complete wire feed unit.

You can buy generic feed and motor units which look like a lot of the ones manufacturers use in their machines.

weldequip sels them, check with him to see if its compatable.

I could well be wrong, but a lot of the motors look like the ones out of a remote control car. Might be worth a look at.

One on ebay with a combined feed and euro connector for £110. If your welder is worth fixing it might be worth that to you.

New motor and wire feed gearbox brand new 66 quid from Clarke direct. New equivalent welder is 600 quid. I replaced the board about 3 months ago will get many more years out of it
