Weld through primer

Just needed to get some weld through primer this morning so dropped by my local Halfords as it's round the corner. Upol weld through primer is £20, I nearly fell over. Halfords brand is £10. I normally use Screwfix zinc spray which is £3.60 a tin which works a treat.

Anyway whine over...

I don't think the Upol stuff is cheap, even online, but Halfords are very expensive for branded primer. I use the Screwfix zinc spray too and it's very good for the money.

So am I mis reading this or is the screwfix zinc spray good to mig through? thanks Arther

Yes you can but best to have clean metal where you're welding. I use it on the back of stuff being welded where you can't paint later because of access.

keep an eye on screwfix, they have it on offer now and again

I bought 20 cans for £1.30 each iirc
