Weld Though Primer?

I am re-paneling a land rover bulkhead, i removed all the panels from a bulkhead that was bent a little in a crash, it has paint on the metal in all the seams. There is a little rust in some seams, but considering some areas of single skinned panel have rotted through the paint seems to have done it’s job in most seams. Opinions of weld though primers?

it does exactly what its supposed to, to be fair - proXL do probably the best one ive used. use a mask when spraying it, and make sure you give it plenty of time to cure before hitting it with the welder.

Keep in mind that any sort of primer is just that, its not really adding much in the way of long term protection to the metal against rust etc.

I used to like the Würth Zinc Perfect. That was "spot weldable". Silly question but is that the same as weld through?

i've been using this for quite a few years, a bit spattery to weld through but is a very good anti rust primer for inside panels (sills etc) painted the sills i made for my brother in laws peugeot 406 estate and just left the outside in this and lasted the 5 years he had the car when doing some minor repairs on my cortina and used bondaprimer extensively and welded ok

Great question! Makes me realise that I don't really know how good these are at all.. I've used el cheapo rattle cans from Screwfix and Toolstation types - former goes on nicely and conducts nicely. If I'm closing off a spot welded box section I oil flush the cavity after ....
But the Teroson product above looks thicker though - maybe better?...Wurth is always good also....need to do some tests on these to compare....
