Hi All,
Not sure if this is the best sub forum for this but I couldn't see a more relevant one.
I am having to create a number of technical drawings of welded steel box section assemblies.
My question is: with mitre and butt joints in steel box section, what weld symbols would you want/expect to see?
After all, on a mitre joint you will be performing a fillet weld on the inside of the corner, a corner weld on the outside and butt welds on the sides. Would it be best to separately annotate all three types, or would it be acceptable/good practice to just put the symbol for an all-round v-groove butt weld?
Similarly on a T joint, you have both fillet and butt, plus the radiused corners of the box effectively give a groove but it is not a prepped one..
Thanks in advance
