I've recently got hold of a nice R-Tech welder in order to learn how to TIG weld. But I've not had a chance to start practicing yet, because...
I'm involved in a MotorCycle project that is taking all my time, but which now requires some welding on the exhaust. Although this is exactly the reason for my wanting to learn to TIG, this is just too soon to try and too important to screw it up. I've been trying to find a M/C exhaust specialist, but have been let down a couple of times so now time is getting critical. Can anyone recommend a TIG welder in (or at least accessible from) Surrey?
Doesn't need to be a M/C specialist specialist as I should have the pieces already available to weld in place. Basically it needs a 2 into 1 Y join/collector welding into place after the cat. has been cut out. So 2 smaller dia. tubes one end and 1 larger one the other. For someone competent at welding 1.2mm stainless tube, it won't be a hard job, but not something I'd want to practice on right now.
Anyone help in any way?
