75p +4% of the final price. That's "Buyer Protection" You even pay it if you collect, Plus... you have to pay through eBay, there's no C.O.D., so they get money both from the buyer and seller.
I remember Ebay charging betwen 10 and 15% of the total transaction cost, item and P&P. The latter because chancers would sell things for a penny but charge large amounts for postage.
Well, the Buyer Protection still works,
if your claim is found valid you get the Protection Fee refunded.
