Weight of a Lathe ?

Any idea what this lathe would weigh ?

I would have said in the region of 400kg with the base but that is just a pure guess.

Well thats cool as if i get it then it will fit on me wee trailer. Its free so hope i got there first

It looks a fairly similar size to the Boxfords I had recently. They were supposed to be around 280kg.

Those weights are for the gearbox model, the lathe looks to be a TDS1/LS (leadscrew) model so It would be minus the gearbox, feed screw and any of the apron gearing. I'd say that it's closer the 300kg mark than 400.

They're essentially the same as the Boxfords; just below the splash tray at each end there are 1" holes in the front and rear walls of the cabinet intended for threading lengths of pipe through to be used as lifting handles. Four average blokes or two chunky monkeys can shift one of those about easily enough.
Can be slung from an engine crane or else the lathe can be separated from the cabinet if you disconnect wiring, belts etc. - although you'll nead a sealant on reassembly.
