I have several WEG single to three phase VFDs and one appear to have developed a fault. The screen flickers with random garbage (see video) and the VFD ramps up to 60 Hz and not 50 Hz as configured. The VFD is out of warranty and I contacted the supplier and was told it would be uneconomic to repair. I've taken it apart and checked for lose connections. Nothing. Any ideas? I have a diagnostics cable coming to me tomorrow and should be testing the VFD this weekend so maybe that will throw up some clues to what is happening. If I find anything useful I will report back. I wanted the cable anyway as I wanted to do some VFD diagnostics on my lathe and mill. Apart from this one failure I've been happy with the WEG drives so far.

Rdy means ready.
It was running correctly but has now developed the fault. I'm confident there is a fault as the display goes haywire. I'm also confident about having programmed the device correctly, although the VFD appears to ignore the programmed settings.
Regarding setting the "place of use" I presume you mean UK/US settings? I've not seen that option. There is an option to set the motor rated frequency which I guess is the nearest equivalent thing. It's all set to 50 Hz.

I’m new to vid’s having been given a 3 phase motor and two T-inverter vid’s to get my old Myford ML7 going. I can’t believe how complex they are in he programming parameters. I’ve managed to get the motor to at least rotate in one direction and have ordered some new fans, the present ones have dry bearings, and a speed control and on/off switches.
Looking at the fault on the OP unit, it looks to be a fault on the display driver as it is driving all the segments at once, intermittently. That could be a noisy power supply due to a leaky capacitor. These things also suffer with noise from other cables. If the default is 60hz, then the fault may have put it in default and not be reprogramable due to the eeprom not responding with the noisy power supply.
That’s my only input as I’ve only had the covers off the two I’ve been given but my experience on lcd’s on calculators and computers, have always found that a noisy P/supply was the culprit when the segments were all being driven.
Their compactness doesn’t make them easy to work on, does it.

I had one of my ABB drives (2.2kW) repaired a couple of years ago by https://nicontrols.com/uk/inverterdriverepairs
The repair includes a 2 year warranty on the whole vfd - if anything else fails in the 2 year period they will repair it again for free.
I have only used them once but the service was great.
It really all depends on how much the VFD is worth/replacement cost vs repair cost.
Ask them for a quote and see what they say. They have a no fix no fee on vfds.
*Edit* because yours is a relatively low kW vfd it might not be worth repairing

Is damp/condensation a possible cause? Take it out of its enclosure, leave in the airing cupboard for a few days and see if the fault returns.

Very unlikely to be damp, but I've brought it indoors and may try another tear down in a few days. I will try the USB option module + programming cable first just in case that reveals a fault. I can't justify buying the module to repair this motor, but it is compatible with other drives I own and I wanted to do some diagnostics.
