Try a google image search for "weather vane", throws up some nice pics to copy, keep meaning to do one for the workshop.

I was thinking of making one. I found all the parts I needed, added the costs together and came to the conclusion that it was far far cheaper to buy one. I got a nice one for 30 odd quid...Ok it doesnt have the satisfaction of making it yourself, but as Im a Yorkshireman saving money takes precedent.

lol certain things are worth making as a hobby even though they take up a lot of time and something to do to unwind and as said the satisfaction .if i have to make things in order to do other jobs and there boring i just fork out and buy one go out and make 60 quid in a few hours and buy the part for 20 quid that would have taken a few hours to make and be 40 quid up on the deal

If you are plasma cutting or jigsawing it make a photocopy then just use spraymount or spray UHU and cut along the outline. Easy peasy.
