We are now officially stock checkers for the Long Horn cattle on our local common
Here's a few pictures of the beasts.

They took a good hour to find as they'd gone into the deep undergrowth as it was hot. We sat on a fallen tree trunk and they got to within about 15' of us happily munching away!
My wife and I did a day long LANTRA training course a few weeks ago learning how to spot problems with cattle, pigs, sheep, goats etc. We often went to find them in the summer when they are out here to graze for a few months and my wife thought it would be a good if we knew a bit more about them.
I would never have thought about doing this myself but I really enjoyed the course and love keeping an eye on the cows
