i look at that as a bonus . Unless its on your brakes of course. All we found with ACF 50 is it's a bitch to clean it off. Had a bike which had been dunked in it and it took ages to clean it.

Depending on the age of these transformers, I hope you wear gloves!I get the oil out of transformers given from time to time , Ive no idea what it is exactly , its like water and I use it for all sorts of things and like it , but I really do like the smell of acf 50.

Ooh, I had to Google that word.lol
omg no ,,, hygroscobic
Many thanks ,, Thats handy to know , I always work in gloves and wash my hands , moving from engineering into the optical lab , dirty hands are frowned on by folk buying 500 quid glasses , as a side note I have never ever liked sticky hands which is really strange seeing some of the things Ive worked on . The transformer oil runs one of the space heaters / waste oil burners all winter it burns well and looks clean out of the chimney .Yeah, I've always thought transformer oil was supposed to be highly carcinogenic.
Dunno about the age part though, I've assumed they're all just as bad as each other, in that respect - new or old.
Be careful out there, Tommo!
All the Best,
CJ
