Waterproof overalls / workwear?.

No matter how planned I am with maintenance etc I always end up at some point outside in the rain laid under a car etc.

Looking for some decent waterproof clothes that will put up with that environment and last a decent while.

I've used old waterproof overtrousers and jackets before be they don't last very long!

Seen the reflective waterproof overalls, are they my best bet?.

Any recommendations welcome.

If your just after stuff for the odd wet day that's going to get ruined working on cars you can't go wrong with Army Surples Goretex stuff. Cheap enough to ruin but good enough to keep you dry and pretty hard wearing.

Thanks for that, I ordered a set yesterday of ebay (No XL size in your link), was soaked to the skin yesterday working on my brothers van in the poring rain, so seemed a sensible move.

The all in 1 suits the rally mechanics use is that you need. There was a thread about them before.

2 piece overalls have a gap that is sure to let in water and dirt when you are working under a car.

We rarely get wet frosty weather: this time last year I was reassembling the front end of my Defender in a crisp -4, not much fun but preferable to to lying under my brother's Pug van replacing ball joints and track rod ends in pouring rain soaked to the skin in a balmy 6 degrees this week.

Car ports make great sheds when you put sides on them! If done right dont need to look naff on the side of your house.

Not these particular items, but a load of our branded shorts and hoodies have been Portwest over the past few years, and have stood the test of time and abuse for comfort and durability.

Re sizing, L is roughly 34" waist, XL 36" in their shorts at least

I have a padded one piece overall from lidl. Good quality outer material that will take some abuse.
But if you start any physical activity when wearing it you sweat like a pig as it it too well insulated.
Only use it gets is if I'm standing at a rally in very cold weather.
