Thanks for the offer but I've just discovered that Optimate do a panel mount socket with a waterproof cover so I might treat myself to one
The dilemma is that both my chargers have TM (Tamiya) type plugs but all the newest stuff is SAE fitting.
I'll probably get an Optimate extension lead as well and they only come in SAE too, nothings ever simple.

I'm looking for a weatherproof IP67? plug and socket so I can easily put the Surf on charge without opening the bonnet and messing around with crocodile clips etc.
It wouldn't start the other day in an emergency when my wife and son needed to go and collect a Christmas tree...
The only accessible place to fit it is in the front grill so it'll get a good blasting.

How very polite!

Quite a handy tool to have, for things like getting the sealing rings over a connector that's going into those waterproof housings I mentioned above, spreading insulating boots, getting petals into balloons, getting heatshrink to go over something that's a little too big, and for undoing large screws with "eyeholes" (if they're not too tight). Not sure I'd risk using them on large circlips, though.

Amazon do a good selection of SAE stuff, just make sure you get the right gauge wire as they're available in a lot of sizes.

I just got a lead for my car as it has so little use these days I want to charge it once a month over winter.

Hellerman sleeve fluid , is almond oil , if you ever run out and need a cheap oil that does not rot the sleeves .

I've not seen that type before they may even be more suitable than the through panel type for the application I was thinking of using them for, so yes I'll take 4 please, best to go to PM's for details.
